🚨 “My dad was arrested. My mum couldn’t car 🚨 “My dad was arrested. My mum couldn’t care for us all by herself. I had to stop school to work.”

Srey Neat (pictured here with some younger siblings) is just 13 years old. As the eldest of 6 children, she had to drop out of school to help raise her siblings after her father was imprisoned in immigration jail in Thailand. But thanks to Care for Cambodia’s learning clubs, she’s now back in class — learning to read, dream, and hope again.

🎒 Education changes lives. Poverty and border conflict shouldn’t rob children of their future.

💛 Help us keep kids like Srey Neat in school.

This is Chetha, 8 years old and studying in Grade This is Chetha, 8 years old and studying in Grade 3 She is the eldest of 3 siblings.

She lives with her grandmother in a remote part of Battambang province because her parents had to migrate to Thailand for work. Grandma is a street vendor, and Grandad works as a carpenter.

Chetha has been attending the Children’s Club since Grade 1 – that’s three years now! Every evening from 5 to 6 PM, Monday to Friday she attends the local CFC Childrens club. She says that she loves coming because she gets help with her schoolwork and gets to take part in many fun activities.

Chetha writes ‘Thanks to the support I receive at the club, I am able to stay in school and move up to Grade 3. Every year, I pass my exams and even received an award for good performance

I’m so happy and grateful to the donors who have made it possible for me – and many others – to keep going to school.’

Your support is making this possible — thank you!

Meet Keo. As the eldest of three, she helps care Meet Keo. As the eldest of three, she helps care for her younger siblings while living with her parents, who work hard to support the family—her mother raises poultry, and her father is a construction worker.

Thanks to the support of Care for Cambodia, Keo attends daily after-school classes. These sessions help her improve her reading, writing, and overall academic skills. She’s committed to learning and rarely misses a day of school. In 2024, she was awarded a certificate of achievement—a proud moment that encouraged her to keep studying hard.

At home, Keo also helps her family by washing dishes, feeding chickens, and cooking rice. Her story is a powerful reminder of how education, paired with encouragement, transforms lives.

Thank you to our supporters who make stories like Sreykaew’s possible!

So encouraging to see the community come together So encouraging to see the community come together to help the family of the kids whose house was burned down last week.

The local community has almost finished rebuilding their house, and we at Care for Cambodia have been able to help them with emergency essentials like food stuff, clothing and school materials.

Thanks to all friends who donated to help in this unfortunate situation.

My name is Chanty. I am a 10-year-old girl studyin My name is Chanty. I am a 10-year-old girl studying in Grade 5 in Kampong Thom Province.

Currently, I live with my mother, who is a housewife. My mother does not have a stable job. She sometimes works as a daily laborer and occasionally sells fruit on the roadside to earn some income.

Every day, I attend supplementary classes at the learning club from Monday to Friday, usually from 5 PM to 6 PM. Before joining the learning club, my school attendance was inconsistent, and I struggled with my studies. But since attending, I have improved significantly. I have learned about personal hygiene, such as washing my hands properly, and I have also become more confident in speaking with my friends and teachers at school.

Additionally, thanks to the program, I now have access to nutritious soy milk several times a week.

I am deeply grateful to Care for Cambodia for establishing a school in my community, allowing children like me to receive an education and access nutritious food. I hope to continue my studies and one day have a brighter future.

Meet Takvan, a 12-year-old girl from Oddar Meanche Meet Takvan, a 12-year-old girl from Oddar Meanchey. Takvan has faced many challenges in her education. With her parents serving as soldiers at the border with no school near them, she needs to live with her grandparents and walk over 2km to school each day.

Thanks to the CfC kids club, she has improved her Khmer and English skills and gained confidence in her studies. In 2024, she excelled in a scholarship exam, placing first in her grade, and now has the opportunity to continue her education at secondary school in 2025.

With support for food and transport, she can pursue her dreams. Thank you to everyone who makes stories like Takvan’s possible!

My name is Sreykha, and I am 11 years old, studyin My name is Sreykha, and I am 11 years old, studying in Grade 5 Kampong Speu Province. I am the eldest of four siblings (two sisters and two brothers).

My parents are farmers, but my mother suffers from health issues, and my father often has irregular work. To support the family, my parents do various jobs such as harvesting rice or other crops to sell.

In 2024, my family faced many hardships due to a poor harvest. Thanks to the help and support from Care for Cambodia, I was able to continue my education. This has been a lifeline for me, giving me the opportunity to study and grow. I also attend the youth club, where I participate in various activities that help me develop and learn new things. This has improved my confidence and knowledge, making me eager to continue learning.

I would like to thank Care for Cambodia for providing education opportunities in our village and giving me and many other children the chance to receive an education. Without this support, I would not have the opportunity to study or pursue my dreams.
